Meet Maddi, DG Cover Girl

The Girls’ Survival Guide 2007 is finally out, and our five cover girls are already getting a lot of attention!
In the DG Blog, “Interview a DG Cover Girl,” we asked you to ask Maddi, Felicia, Hayley, and Stacie, well…anything! And you did! We received lots of questions (thank you!), so we’ll have our cover girls answer them in DG Blog posts throughout the summer! (You can read all about Hana’s photo shoot experience—right now—in the June/July issue of DG!)
This week, DG caught up with 12-year-old Girls’ Survival Guide 2007 cover girl Maddi, and she was more than happy to answer your questions! Check it out!
How did you react when you found out that you'd be a model on the cover?
I was really excited because modeling sounded like it would be really fun. I just couldn’t believe I was going to be on the cover!
Were you scared or nervous about meeting the other girls?
No, because I really like meeting new people. I was just happy to be making some new friends. We all got along really well!
Were you nervous when you were having your photo taken?
I’m not really nervous because I like taking pictures—I think it’s fun! I was just hoping the photos would turn out good.
What was the best part of the photo shoot?
I really liked the outfits and meeting the girls. And the food was pretty good, too! It tasted great, and we’d all talk while we ate.
Did you get to pick what clothes you wore?
No—Julia and Ashley picked them for us.
Did you wear more than out outfit?
Yeah. I wore two. The outfit I wore wasn’t my favorite of the two, but it was really cute.
Do you have a favorite section in DG?
I love the embarrassing moments.
Did anyone at your school see you on the cover?
Yeah, actually! This girl at my school ordered the magazine and she didn’t know I was in it. Then she saw me in the magazine and came to school with it! She was running around with the issue, showing it to everyone. I was a little embarrassed and shy since I was getting a lot of attention. I’d only told my friends about it!
