Lights! Camera! Best friends! The winners of DG’s video contest, Jessica and Chava, not only bring a sense of humor to their entry, but their friendship is (fabulously!) on display! It’s clear that these talented girls love stealing scenes, hamming it up for the camera, and having a blast with each other! How did you decide to make your video a newscast?
Jessica: Chava and I were playing with the idea for years! We were always coming up with news stories.
Chava: Yeah, we used to film ourselves making joke broadcasts for fun, so when we heard about the contest, we were like, OMG!

What were the challenges you faced when putting this video together?
Jessica: Trying to get out of the desk, because the desk was meant for one chair and we both had to squeeze in. The desk was so small!
Chava: When the contest came out [in the August/September issue], I was at sleepaway camp so Jessica had to mail me all the information. It must have been exhausting for her!

What makes your friendship strong?
Jessica: We both agree and laugh about the same things. We always have fun together and we trust one another.
Chava: It’s so weird, because we never disagree—we think alike! I don't recall ever really being in a fight with Jessica! Our friendship is so strong!

What tips do you have for girls who want to put together a “winning” video?
Chava: Have fun with it! If it’s stressing you out, the video will not turn out as well. Relax and feel good about what you are doing.
Jessica: Don’t be so worried. If something goes wrong when you’re filming, just pretend it didn’t happen and be prepared for anything.

How does it feel to know that your video will be seen by thousands of girls?
Chava: You should have heard me screaming when Jessica called and told me we’d won!
Jessica: It feels so weird, because you think, Are they going to like it? and things like that. It’s going to be so cool, though—knowing people will be watching our video from all over the U.S. and Canada!
