Everyone gets nervous sometimes but that’s just life. I’m sure you’ll find a great group of soccer friends and maybe even a favorite teacher. Don’t be nervous or else everything might go wrong. Say in your head “I will not be nervous. I will not be nervous.” And everything will be great!

on TV there is always an episode about how nobody likes the new kids… its not real! at my school everybody likes to meet new kids and i try to be extra nice to them! so dont worry… it will all turn out great!

I totally agree with all you guys! i was once the new kid, and it wasn’t that bad. I moved to England for a while, and after a while, you find awesome people, and have a great time!! =) don’t worry, everyone can fit in somewhere, even if it doesn’t seem like that sometimes!

I used to be at this new this new girl at a totally different school! I was like a statue and guess how that worked out for me?? HORRIBLY!! But then another girl was new and she was a friend to many people! I was a very social person so I started hangin out with my brother’s friends and then by the end of the day I had boy and girl BFFs! Now that this is my second year everybody wants to be around me, even some of the mean girls,(I was friends with everyone)! So just play and soon what do expect a new BFF!

yeah, being the new kid can be fun! its a new oppertunity cuz no one will know what you are like, and it could be a whole new expirience. especially with starting Jr. High! its soooo nerve-racking until u actually get there. then you feel like really official and stuff. lockers, and desks where the chairs are attached were the 2 hardest things 4 me! also you think you will B made fun of but u WONT i promise you rite now! oh, and dont B afraid 2 make new friends cuz i have TONS of NEW bffs!! well even if your not new, GOOD LUCK IN SCHOOL!

At my school if you are a new kid, everyone hangs out with you and wants to be your friend! They usually are the most popular kid in class after a week!

I wanted to be the new kid for along time until i was the new kid! i had to move to a different state and A new school no one talked to me! but after a while it got better i started to make new friends but i still really missed my old ones!

It is not that bad to be the new kid, it can be good in so many ways! I was the new kid once and i met so many new friends and they were all so nice, but the school was way different than my old one and I like it a lot so it is as bad as it seems

i wouldnt want to be the new kid! it would be weird adjusting. it also depends who u are and your attitude. if u want be popular and make friends as a new kid u have to want to make friends and be friendly.

i agree, being the new kid can make you nervous, but if you be yourself around people, than they can see who you are and be your friend. It’s exciting to see what the school will look like, what type of teachers you will have, and what your new home is like. So I COMPLETELY AGREE.

Don't worry!! Chances are there is another girl who is new and needs a friend just like you!!!!!!!!!! If you give her a smile, say hi and introduce your self there could be your life long friend standing right in front of you!!!!!!! And do NOT worry. Lots of people change schools and their feeling like they've been at the school for years in days!!!!!!

I agree with you about it rocking being the new kid because you get all of the attention. I was the new kid 4 times and I’m only 11 years old (going on 12) but sometimes it CAN be scary because there’s new people that sometimes judge at first glance.

when i read the first issue in DG from Mackenzie’s point of view, i thought Lexi was just mean! then i read Lexi’s side and after reading how she did like mackenzie, how jamie lied to mackenzie, and how Mackenzie’s still mad at Lexi, I”m on Lexi’s side! I feel sorry for her.

Me too! I mean, I’ve been to 4 schools,(2 kindergarden and 2 schools). But I don’t understand why you think being the new kid is great. At my school when i was a new kid, i went through so much drama until i met my recent friends. Well, if your first day got along really well, consider yourself really lucky! (My sister is the most social person I’ve ever known,turned out most of her so called “friends” only been friends with her because of the food she had!!! Weird huh? =(

Being the new kid is hard. I went to a Soccer camp this summer, and everyone knew each other. It was really scary, but you just have to go up and say hi. Also, moving is hard. I moved to India, and it is scary at first, because you know no one, but you just have to settle in.

i agree that being a new kid at school is hard. A few years ago, my gandpa wanted us to start ging to church with him. I was so nervous to go into a sunday school class with people i have never met. Even worse, i have never been to sunday school before. i always was able to go in the big chappel with my parents. it was just me this time. As soon as i walked in the class, my worries were gone. A girl walked up to me and introduced herself to me. a few minutes later we were best friends and have been best friends ever scince.

omg that happened to me too! we started gong to church when i was in 3rd grade and i was so scared! but i met this one girl who is now my best friend. she came right up and introduced herself to me. i was sooo grateful! then in 4th grade a new girl came and she is also my bff!

Basketball Blues
I went to my first basketball practice and i didnt know half the girls there! I was so embaressed. I tried to make friends but they kept ignoring me! But know once i got ot know them, we got to be BFFS! Anyway, it is scary to be new but it is sometimes good!

OMG THAT IS SO TRUE ABOUT STARTING JR HIGH IT WAS NERVE WRECKING I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE BUT IT IS COOL NOW THINKING OF ALL THE STUFF U GET CAUSE U R OLDER NOW U GET A LOCKER WHICH IS REALLY COOL AND I MEAN THERE R SOME DISADVANTAGES I MEAN AT MY SCHOOL U HAVE TO WALK ON A LINE AND WEAR UNIFORMS BUT THAT IS JR HIGH 4 U RIGHT. MAKING NEW BFF’S IS RIGHT I HAD MADE AT LEAST 10 NEW BFF’S BY THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL SO DON’T BE SCARED IT IS PRETTY FUN.

I got to private school and there is an elementary school and a middle school so i wont be nervous, and i go to the middle school wing a lot, plus my brothers went there and tell me a lot about it and i am still nervous! i am in fifth grade and i am going into sixth grade next year and all i can think about is getting teased by a bully or getting stressed out for forgetting my locker combination. But i am not swiching schools so that is not as bad as going to a whole different school, i mean i will still have my BFFs with me and there will me some new kids i can help and be friends with(this year all of the new girls got put in the other class so i didn’t really get to meet any new friends but my friend from my old school came to my new school) anyway, i am going to try to be less nervous about middle school and make new friends (hopefully the new girls will be in my homeroom.

I have to agree with “don’t be nerous” when ever there is a new kid at my school, everyone is dying to be friends with them. on the first day of school, there was this new girl named hannah. no one really paid attention to her a first (because we were all trying to get bac in “school mode”) but i saw she was looking lost and showed her 2 of her classrooms. it turned out we were in 6 classes togther out of 8. now we are really good friends!
school sports
In school if you want to do a sport go ahead! Don’t be afraid to do it just because you best friend won’t do it with you. My bff and I joined field hockey last year and I rejoined again this year! (even though my bff didn’t). Now because I’m on the team again I’m the leading Goalie!

At my school, everyone wants to be friends with the new girls. Last year, I made friends with TWO new girls, and got one involved in some things around town, and now we’re BEST FRIENDS!

That’s how it is at my school too. All the new kids there are popular (in a good way) in like, 5 minutes! Just be yourself and people will like you for who you are and if they don’t, well’ you know who your real friends are!

I totally agree! When I get nervous, I just take deep breaths and tell myself everything will be fine. It ALWAYS works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
