Dream job: Being an art teacher would be my dream job. I would also love to be a Special Olympics coach at World Games!

Hobbies: I love making crafts, going to Girl Scouts, ballet, 4-H, sewing, writing stories, drawing and painting. I also love to make things out of clay!

Friends describe me as: Caring, silly, shy at first, but once you get to know me, watch out, I'm a talker!

My favorite food is: Pepperoni and pineapple pizza!

How I make the world a better place: I created Calista Cares (www.CalistaCares.com) in December 2006, when I was 7 years old, to help raise money for Special Olympics by making and selling crafts, having bake sales, lemonade stands and raffles. In October 2009, I decided I wanted to also try to grant a wish through Make-A-Wish. So far, I have raised $8,177.00 for Special Olympics and $1,334.00 for Make-A-Wish. My goals are to raise $10,000.00 for Special Olympics and $3,400.00 for Make-A-Wish (the cost of the average wish). I have volunteered over 1,700 hours since I started Calista Cares. Some of the other organizations or causes I have helped are Operation Christmas Child, Salvation Army bell ringing, trick-or-treat for UNICEF, Stuff the Jeep to send care packages to soldiers, Pennies for Patients, food drives for local food pantries, Bike or Hike to raise money for The ARC, Relay for Life, Pizza Hut fundraiser for The American Red Cross, Stuff the Bus to provide school supplies to local children and Alex's Lemonade Stand to raise money to find a cure for pediatric cancer. I have also donated 15 inches of my hair to Locks of Love and am going to make another donation very soon.
