Back-to-School Tips

The first weeks of a new school year is an exciting time because it's a fresh start. It's also an opportunity to make a good first impression. Of course, you hear a lot about making a good impression with your looks—your clothes, hair, etc. But did you know there are many other factors that contribute to first impressions? Here are a few tips for putting your best foot forward the first week of school. Smile! Something as simple as a smile can let new students know you'd like to be friends. It can also let friends you haven't seen in a while know you're still the nice, friendly girl they remember from last year. Hold Your Head High and Shoulders Back. If you look confident even when you don't feel confident, others will pick up on it and feel more comfortable around you. Eventually, you might even start to feel more confident, too! Be Friendly to Everyone! You can never have too many friends. So even if you already have a good group of friends, challenge yourself to make more. Walk up to someone you don't know well, look her in the eye and say. "It's good to see you again! How was your summer?" Do you have any back-to-school tips to share?

It's back-to-school time! And that usually means a trip to the store to stock up on school clothes and supplies! With all the cute stuff out there, it can be tempting to buy way more than you need! Of course, you can't snatch up every cute thing you see. So how can you be sure you're making smart choices? With a few quick tips, you’ll be shopping smarter in no time! 1 . Make a list. If you need something specific, having a list handy will help you avoid making impulse purchases. 2 . Think it over. Why do you want it? If it’s just because it’s on sale, or your friend has one, reconsider whether or not it’s really worth spending money on. 3 . Come back later. Leave it at the store while you browse around the mall. End Of Summer Tips!

End Of Summer Tips!

Although the summer vacation is almost over, there is still time for a few last minute trips to the beach, pool, or water park! When I was a tween, I never knew what to bring with me to the beach... So I thought I would give you girls some tips on what to bring with you on your journey! Grab at least 1 towel to dry off with after going in the water. If you won't be swimming it's still good to have something to sit on. You will also need a bottle of sunscreen... This is to make sure to protect your skin from the sun! Then, grab a pair of sunglasses and a big hat, not only will you look super cute, but you'll protect your skin and your eyes, too! Bringing books, games, or sand toys will keep you entertained while you're enjoying the scenery. You should also some snacks and water bottles, or money to buy some so you stay hydrated and energized! Throw all of these in to a cute big bag and you are ready to go on a super fun trip! If you have any more ideas on what to bring, make sure to post them in the comments!
What’s In Your Bag?

What’s In Your Bag?

If you carry a purse or tote, it’s easy to be prepared for anything! Of course, what you put in your bag depends on where you’re going or what you’ll be doing in a day. Here are a few basics that will be helpful no matter where you go. 1. Note pad and pencil. If you ever need to remember something, you’ll have somewhere to jot it down so you won’t forget about it later. 2. Hair brush and hair ties or clip. It’s good to have the option to put your hair back so you can go from class to PE or other activities that require movement. 3. Mirror. It’s always good to have a mirror around for those times when you feel like you might have something stuck between your teeth! What do you carry in your bag?
Be Positive!

Be Positive!

It’s amazing how much having a positive attitude can impact everything you do positively! Being upbeat and confident can help you to make friends, perform better on the soccer field, and make you feel happier overall! How can you be more positive even when things aren’t going so well? One easy way is to imagine what you want to happen and voice it as if it were true. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and say out loud (or think to yourself if you’re in a public place): “I am confident!” “I make friends easily!” “I am a great student!” “I am _____ (fill in the blank)!” Even if it doesn’t feel true in the moment, it might begin to shift your way of thinking.
