Food Frenzy!

Food Frenzy!

Q: What should I eat before a big test?

A: Eating the right meal and making sure you get enough sleep before a big test are almost as important as studying, so make sure you do all three! It’s super important that you never skip breakfast, especially on the day of a big test. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day even on days you don’t have a test. It jump-starts your metabolism and kicks your brain into high gear, so you’ll definitely be ready to tackle that test! Try to go for a protein-rich breakfast, with things like eggs, fruit, and yogurt. If your test is later in the day, snack on nuts or a granola bar for an extra energy boost, and be sure to drink lots of water, too!

Super Easy Summer Smoothie

Super Easy Summer Smoothie

There’s nothing more refreshing than good summer fruit! Not only are they yummy but they’re also good for you! One of our favorite ways to enjoy fruit is by making smoothies.

There are so many different ways to make a smoothie; you could make any kind you like, with any fruit. Here’s a super simple recipe!

You will need:
Blender
½ cup of frozen fruit—any kind you want! (We used nectarines.)
1 cup of milk

Put your ingredients into a blender, place lid on blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy the taste of summer. It’s that easy, and so sweet and refreshing!

If you want to be adventurous, try adding more than one kind of fruit, or use juice (like orange juice) instead of milk. If you don’t have frozen fruit you can use fresh fruit, just add a handful of ice cubes too.

Hope you enjoy these smoothies as much as we do!

Sunscreen on a Cloudy Day?

Sunscreen on a Cloudy Day?

Q: Do I really need sunscreen on a cloudy day?

A: We know it sounds crazy, but you really do need sunscreen on a cloudy day! Why? Up to 80% of the sun’s rays are still reaching your skin, even when the sun is hidden by clouds. In fact, the sun’s rays can get to you through clouds, smog, haze, even glass! And those rays can get through your clothes, too! Crazy, huh?

That’s why it’s so important to lather up with sunscreen every single day. It might seem like a lot to handle now, but we promise it will pay off in the long run. Taking good care of your skin at a young age is one of the absolute best things you can do for your body! And it’s easy, so why not? Just look for a daily facial moisturizer that also includes an SPF of 15 or higher, and you’re all set!
