Pink Locker Society

Pink Locker Society

Only Girls Allowed, the first book in the series The Pink Locker Society by Debra Moffitt, is all about a group of middle school girls who were chosen to be in a top secret society at their school. Their mission? Answering other girls' questions and giving advice about topics like puberty, bras, and boys through a website PinkLockerSociety.com. This is a task that Jemma, the main character, and three of her friends take seriously. But how can they be sure they're giving the best advice?

Only Girls Allowed is a cute story with a fun take on some of the normal, everyday issues girls face in middle school. We love that the advice web site mentioned in the book is a real site that even lets you send your questions to Jemma! Check it out at PinkLockerSociety.com, and be sure to let us know what you think!

Will you read the book? What's your best advice for other girls your age?

Dork Out!

Dork Out!

Don't be afraid to be different! The book series Dork Diaries is all about Nikki Maxwell’s unique talent for drawing and how she uses it to express herself. She is truly hilarious and real about middle school issues (mean girls, new crushes, insecurities). A girl has gotta have a creative outlet! No matter what you love to do, do it with confidence! Don’t be afraid to embrace your inner DORK! Art is just ONE way to express yourself. Here are some other fun ways to dork out! 1. Sing, play an instrument, or join the marching band! 2. Add it up! If you love Math, Science, or computers join a club that challenges you to learn more! 3. Write a story! If you're always telling great stories anyway, you might as well write them down and share them with your friends! We’d love to hear about the special talents you have that make you different! Tell us about it by commenting below. BTW, if you're an artistic type, you'll love the Dork Diaries widget. It lets you create your own cartoon! Click here to try it!

Dork Diaries

It is no longer uncool to be a DORK thanks to Nikki Maxwell in the new book series Dork Diaries! Nikki Maxwell might not have a new iPhone or a seat at the popular girls’ table, but she’s one funny chick and a pretty talented artist. OK, so maybe at first she wasn’t super excited to find out her back-to-school present was a diary and not a cell phone, but this diary ends up being the perfect place for Nikki to embrace her inner dork and truly tell it (middle school drama) like it is! Have you ever had trouble fitting in at school? Tell us all about it! You’ll see that lots of other girls are going through exactly the same thing! And remember, standing out from the crowd is a GOOD thing! If you're an artistic type, like the book's heroine, you'll love the Dork Diaries widget. It lets you create your own cartoon! Click here to try it and embrace your inner DORK!
