Selena Gomez Talks to DG
It's the premeire you've been waiting for: Wizards of Waverly Place debuts tonight on Disney Channel!
It doesn't take a wizard to know that one of the show's stars, the talented Selena Gomez, is slated to put a spell on audiences. We caught up with Ms. Gomez before her big (magical!) Disney Channel debut, and she let us in on how she got her start--and how experiencing success wasn't always easy. Here's what she had to say:
Have her friends been supportive of her career?I told my mom that I wanted to try acting and I ended up doing Barney and Friends, which was shot in Texas. That’s when it happened—I'd miss a couple of weeks for Barney and then I'd go back to school and I'd deal with some jealousy. I wouldn’t talk about the show unless somebody said, "How was your episode?" So not a lot of people were jealous--just this one group of girls who didn't like me."
They have, and they've even come out to Los Angeles to see the show. But back in fourth grade when I started acting, I did lose a couple of friends because of the whole jealousy thing. But I look at it like a sport. Some kids play soccer. Acting is my sport.Don't miss the premiere of Wizards of Waverly Place, tonight at 9:30 p.m./8:30c on Disney Channel!

I’ve only missed one Wizards of Waverly Place. Alex (Selena) is my favorite charcter! But I really loved her on Hannah Montana. She should be a full-time charcter.i have seen all the episodes!

My favorite eposide of the rocking show is when Selena likes Justin’s friends. They invite her to the movie, but she can’t get in because it is rated R. She then uses magic to see the film but she ends up in it. I thought this one was the best, it knocked my socks off!! ***SmiLEy HAyleY***Selena is cool
