Have you ever wondered how we come up with the outfits on the cover? Is there a color scheme? Where do the clothes come from? What about the accessories? Read on to find out!

Before we do anything, the first thing we do is decide on the color scheme. For the August/September issue, we decided to try a red and blue theme, and a green and blue theme!

Once the colors are set, we run around the mall and shop, shop, and shop! 

When we get back to the office with bags and bags of clothes, we narrow down the clothes to ones we think are best for the cover. Then we decide on the accessories! Yellow accessories really pop against these outfits, no?

To make sure these outfits are really what we want for the cover, we try them on! (That's a sure way to find out!) Our interns, Krista and Gina, were good sports and modeled the clothes for us. Don't they look cute?

Once we're happy with the outfits and give them stamps of approval, we take them to the photo shoot and dress our 12 Discovery Girls for the cover! (In case you were wondering, they loved the clothes!)
