Brisk autumn winds will have your pinwheel spinning round and round! This craft is super easy to make and so much fun!
You will need:
Scissors
-
Ruler
-
Pencil with eraser
-
Cardstock or construction paper
-
Push pin
-
Decorations such as stickers
Directions:
-
Using a pencil and a ruler, draw a five inch by five inch square on a sheet of cardstock or construction paper.
-
Draw two diagonal lines from the corners of the square, to create an X.
-
You now have four sections. Color a small dot in the left corner of each section.
-
Draw a small circle (about the size of a quarter) in the middle of the square where the X intersects and draw a dot. (Your template should look like the one in the picture)
-
Using scissors cut out the square template you have just created.
-
Cut along the diagonal lines until you get to the circle. Do not cut past the circle.
-
Personalize your pinwheels with stickers, glitter or drawings—this is your chance to get really creative!
-
Take each dotted corner and fold it to the center dot.
-
Use your push pin to poke through all of the corners that are now in the center of the pinwheel.
-
Put the pencil behind the pinwheel and push the pin into the eraser.
-
Blow on the sides of the pinwheel and watch it spin! (If it does not spin, pull the pin out a little)
