Halloween should be all about "boo"--not "boo-hoo"! For a guaranteed (safe) blast, check out this checklist… Go With a Group. There's safety--and fun--in numbers! Organize a trick-or-treating fest with your best buds, the kids in your neighborhood, or even some new friends. Make a Plan. Make sure that your parents know exactly where you'll be. Let them know what streets you’ll be haunting, whom you'll be with, and when they should expect you back. Then stick to your plan! Light Up the Night. A flashlight is your must-have accessory! It will help you to see where you’re going and, most important, it will help people (and drivers!) to see you. This is especially important if you are wearing a dark costume. Unwrapped, Uncool. If it's not in a wrapper, it goes in the trash! No, most people do not want to hurt you, but it's better to be safe than sorry! (That’s right: Bye-bye, apples!) "Eye" Spy. If you're doing the sheet "ghost" thing, or wearing anything that covers your face, be sure to cut out holes big enough for your eyes. You need to see where you are going! Save Some for Later! As tempting as it may be, do not eat your entire bag of candy tonight! You'll want to remember the 31st for the fun you had, not for your stomachache! Hey, trick-or-treaters!
