If you read the DG Blog, quizzes, celebrity interviews, embarrassing moments, Ask Ali questions (and answers), and nearly all of the other features on DiscoveryGirls.com, you've probably noticed the "Add a new comment" option at the bottom of the page. And maybe you've even done just that--clicked on the option and submitted your comment to this web site!
Since so many of you have shared your comments with us, we thought you might want to know a little bit about how we select the comments that are published.
The most important thing to remember is that identifying information should
never be sent to DiscoveryGirls.com. That means that if you comment on this website, do NOT sign your comment with your last name, age, state, city, school, IM screen name, or e-mail address. If your comment contains any identifying information, we'll delete it immediately. Please know that this is for your safety!
But what about comments that are just, well, opinionated? Here are some DG Comment rules to write by...
Be Clear. We want everyone visiting DiscoveryGirls.com to have a blast, but we also want to be able to publish comments that are clear and to the point. To increase your chances of getting a comment published, take a few minutes to think before you write. Can you add something or make a point that will set your comment apart from the rest?
Be "Clean." You've probably noticed that we do NOT publish comments that contain not-so-nice language. Approach the writing of your comment as you would an article for DiscoveryGirls.com, the magazine, or for any publication you love.
Be Nice. We know that our readers and web visitors have so many opinions--and we love that! Unfortunately, we don't want our Comments area to be taken over by arguments between commenters. And we will not post comments that insult others. Please be respectful of each other's comments. If you're thoughtful and kind, you're more likely to see your comment posted!
Those are some main "Comment" rules to keep in mind for now. In the meantime, we'll do our best to post as many of your comments as possible. So keep writing to us, girls!

I started reading DG when i was 10 and now im 14 and i still love it! It’s helped answer some questions, and I even got one of my letters posted in Mailbag one time! I can tell you, that the first time I saw this magazine I thought I was looking at a magazine of solutions! Many girls have troubles with crushes, school, siblings and much more! But this magazine has the solution to your problems! The first time I read this, I actually started reading, and listening and soon I actually handled the situation more maturly that I did before. Discovery Girls Magazine is fun, entertaining , and written on all that paper are a girls dream! Plus, the contests that they put are really cool! I participated once in one but i did not win :-( But yet I was glad. whoever won! Congrats! CAPTCHA stands for “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart”, and what it’s for is to show that there is a *real* person trying to post a comment or send an email through this site. There are computer programs on the internet that try to use sites like this to post or send spam (unwanted advertising), and they automatically fill out forms and submit them without a real person ever having to even look at the site. However, computer programs have a very hard time reading text from graphics, but real people can generally read text inside graphics well so when you enter the CAPTCHA validation before you submit your comment, you’re basically proving that you are a real person and not a computer program. It may seem a little weird, but it allows us to concentrate on reading *your* comments instead of having to deal with messages from computer programs that have nothing to do with this site.Comments are awesome!!!

I love sending comments! I think its really cool to be able to contribute to DG magazine online! Its nice when something I wrote is posted, and when someone replies to a comment I left. I like to hear what other girls have to say. Even though I sign my name most of the time, there are still some rare occasions when I don’t. Sometimes comments I send aren’t always published, but now I know that its probably for a good reason. (I don’t say anything super-bad though.) I usually have different opinions than most girls and a lot of people would consider most of my thoughts contriversial. Now I’m going to try and say this as nice as possible but whenever I post the contriversial things that ARE my REAL opinion they never get posted even if there’s nothing really bad in them. I think that we sometimes think in the way that we think, instead of seeing it through “their Eyes”. And Debate means you can say your idea, or opinion on a certain subject. But it also means act maturly and without insult to the other person. Like, don’t call them Idiots just because they don’t believe what you believe.
