When I Was a Tween...
When I was a tween I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of something that is now an international phenomenon for girls at this pivotal age. This special opportunity was to be in the first group of girls featured in what we have all come to know and love as Discovery Girls Magazine. When the magazine started, I was nine years old and in the fourth grade. I had been in a couple of classes with DG founder Catherine’s daughter, my friend Alexa (who is still my friend now!). Catherine asked me to be a part of her vision for this magazine. Looking back, I realize how amazing being a part of this was and still feel very honored to be able to say so!
I was chosen as a Discovery Girl because I was just an average nine-year-old girl: I loved to sing, dance, play sports, play “teacher” with my mom, and hang out with my little brother. I loved my friends and loved doing whatever I could with them. Through interning at Discovery Girls and continuing to subscribe to the magazine, I have been able to keep that piece of tween a part of me and Discovery Girls will forever hold a special place of my heart. :)

Discovery Girls interns, I started reading the DG magazines about 4 years ago. But I would see some magazines from the past at my friends house and wonder how she got them, then I realized that they were from a long time ago. Ever since then I have wanted the magazines from the past as well as the ones that you’re making now. But how do I get those past magazines? Is there like any special subscription? If so please let me know because I really love the magazine and the advice no matter how old they are. Thanks, let me know if you come up with anything?am I

When dg came out my mom was in the 5 grade and she has the whole collection from 2000-2010 because she didnt tell me about it til last year so now i have the whole collection from 2000-current mags.How cool is thatCool!!!!!

i like all the quizzes. i really <3 taking quizzes!!! i also like how you help girls get organized and help with their problems, wether boys, friends, or parents! i love what you do for girls, and how you put yourself in our shoes to help us out! nice job!My Fave DG part

hey, i’m not sure how to get old ones but i’d really like to have or just read them. My sister used to really like the AG magazines, and my grandma some how got all the old ones for here. She still has them. Some have missing pages. But it is still cool. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)Thx 4 replying!!!
