As a DG intern, I get to read a lot of mail. We love reading all of your thoughts, but every once in a while we read something that really stands out. Personally, I always love the letters and posts that sound like something I might have written as a tween. If you read the blog posts on the DG website, then you might have noticed a few comments (because they're really quite long!) by PJOandHPgirl.
I’ve been raised with British cultures. I eat British food, use British terms (such as “Mum,” and “Oi…”)—I’ve even developed a British accent due to spending time with my British grandparents! All my favorite shows are on BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation). My role models and favorite actors and writers are British. If you ever do get to visit or even live in London, remember—chips there are french fries here, crisps are potato chips, biscuits are cookies. Instead of having 911, they have 999. They drive on the opposite side of the road (the right way!), and pubs are restaurants, not bars. Go England! My bestest best friend is awesome. I love her—she’s like my sister, not just my friend. We can do anything and everything together. We hang out, talk, laugh, joke, sing songs from our favorite musicals, talk about my all-time favorite subject Doctor Who, discuss our crushes, tease my “brothers” and my “sisters” in theatre. We obsess over the awesome things (Doctor Who, Harry Potter), and she never fails to make me laugh….I found a true friend, a reliable friend, a best friend. Life is one crazy ride, and we’re in it together. Forever.

luv it
i looooooooooove harry potter and percy jackson. i espacially love british movies, accents, and emma watsonbecomeing a total S-T-A-R
this is the best thing thats makes me who i wanna be !best cartoon tv show EVER is...
family guy :)English Blood
I don’t have any family who lives in England, but tons of my ancestors did! I also can do a good British accent.ADORE IT
I absolutely adore the last line of her post. Why? Because it so true, life is a crazy ride and every girl needs a best friend to help her get by. those type of friends dont come around every day and not every girl has one. Most of the girls who have that type of friend are the ones that are honest, sweet, and loyal to her friends, everyone around, and most importantly herself. But if you act completely 100% yourself you can almost always find that one other girl or guy that you trust with your life. It just about being yourself and being kind to other and then that friend just comes straight to you.Compleatly Right!
You’re so right about adoring that line! I’ve never seen her posts before, but now I’m keep an eye out for them!Yeah
Pjoandhp girl have u ever went to London? I heard u were in a band (u posted on the cheer page) what do u play?Band and London
No, I have never been to London physically, but in my imagination, I have been there many times! I watch so many TV shows and read so many books centered around London that I know it better than I know most cities near where I live! A few years from now, when I go to London for the first time, I’ll be prepared! Also, as for band, I play the flute. I’ve played for six years and I was first chair in my old band. I’m a bit out of practice, but I love that instrument. It makes such a beautiful sound. I’m also going to take some classes to learn how to work a synthesizer and make computerized music. I don’t know if that counts as an instrument…but I think it does! :)Band and London
Have I been to London? Yes and no. In my mind, I’ve gone their many times. I probably know London better than most cities I’ve actually been their. Though most of my family lives there, I’ve never actually visited London, sadly. Also, I am indeed in band, and I play the flute. I have played for six years. Though I’m a bit out of practice, I’m working to get a new band program started up at my school, because I love being in band, I love playing flute, and I can’t wait to be a part of it again. :)Books
I am in love with Percy Jackson and Harry Potter books too!!! They are AWESOME!!! :)Cool!
I think you have an amazing job Alexandra! I love writing to DG and posting comments on your site! Thanks for reading ALL of our mail!New
I’m new to the site. What are intern blogs? Are they all like this one? Please reply!!! :)Intern Blogs
Intern blogs are blogs written by (you guessed it) Interns! This is a new idea to use out favorite reader mail in the intern blogs because we read so much mail! As a result, the past intern blogs are a slightly different set up, but the future blogs will probably be a lot like this one. ~AlexandraThanks!
Thank you for replying to my comment! You interns are very attentive!HI!!!
Hi Alexandra you’re awesome!!!!! I want to be a DG intern!!!Comments.
I think you shouldnt need to approve comments on this website. Don’t you trust us? thanks.Re: Comments
There are several reasons why we approve all the comments, first and foremost being that we want this website to be fun and safe. When you sign up for a DG account, we promise you (and your parents) that this is a safe environment for tween girls to talk about whatever you want free from swear words, put-downs and the weird creepers that hang around the internet. Of course we trust you, but we also want to make sure that everyone has a good time on the site! I even have to approve my own comments before they can be published on the site. We publish far more comments than we delete, but we make sure that the site is safe and fun. Sometimes when you write something you don't realize that it could be hurtful to others, so we go in an amend things too sometimes. We go by the rules "be clean, be clear, be nice, and don't give out personal information." Our official rules can be viewed here: http://www.discoverygirls.com/for-girls/posting-rules . It's not that we don't trust you, it's that we want to keep you safe. I hope that long-winded explanation answers your question. :) ~Alexandra

I’ve read the first two books of HP when I was younger, but I never got to finish all of them. Should I read them? A lot of people say it’s really good!:)Totally!

Dear Discovery Girls intern, thank you for sharing these comments with us! If I were an intern, I would’ve never thought of being so thoughtful, much less name the girls who did them! Seeing you do this makes my new dream want to be a Discovery Girls intern. Thank you for inspiring me and lots of other girls to!You're Welcome!
You're Welcome. I'm so glad you liked this blog! Also, I wanted to remind you that while DG is an amazing place to have an internship at, there are a ton of great internships out there. If you don't live near one of DGs offices, almost every company in America takes a few interns over the summer. I have a friend who is having a great time at her internship at eBay, and have made friends with the intern at my dad's work! Great internships are all over the place and you can work at a company that really interests you. I want to do something with writing, so I'm working at a magazine. Similarly my friend at eBay wants to be a programmer. You can do something that you really enjoy doing. Not that you need to worry about this right now. Enjoy being a tween! Just don't worry about internships right now. ~Alexandra
Thanks...Again!
Thanks a lot for writing back! I've never been published on the computer,so this is a big honor for me!
