A Kind of Magic

I always find myself rereading books by Diana Wynne Jones. She’s been one of my favorite authors for years, and the fun, light-hearted whimsy of her fantasy worlds never fails to completely capture my imagination.

If you’re still mourning the loss of the Harry Potter series (like Kendra!), pick up something by J.K. Rowling’s magical predecessor. You won’t be disappointed!
My personal favorite? Charmed Life, a novel about a boy called Cat who discovers that his nickname is more appropriate than he knows. Magic is as commonplace in his life as electricity is in ours. Cat starts the story feeling isolated and overshadowed, but ends up learning about himself and growing more confident in his abilities. So although his world may be super different from ours, his situation is something that we can all relate to, magical or not!

Really? That’s interesting. I’m Christian, too, but my mom and dad encourage me to read whatever I want, including magic books. I enjoy them the most because I can travel to a place where anything is possible.

Oh my gosh I LOVE Diana wynne jones’ Howls moving castle series!especially House of Many Ways. Sophie, Howl and Calcifer kick Percy and Harry’s butt any day! and I know cause I read those two series too.

I just finished...

I just finished Ever by Gail Carson Levine! And I just started Wings by Aprillynne Pike again for the third time! It’s an amazing book, and the second book in the series,Spells, is even better!

U are so ttly right!!! the movie was good, but horrible compared 2 the books, he wasn’t even 11, that kid was like, 15!!! plus, they never net the hydra!!! Only in the second 1 with the monster donut shop!!! And whats with annabeth?! The actress didn’t even look like the way they described!!! And she was a lot more aggressive… U know when they introduce annabeth? I thot she was clarisse!!!

I know! They didnt even make annabeths hair the right color. And they took out the best parts, like when Percy and his mom are at the beach. That was my least favorite movie.

Percy Jackson!!!

Oh my gosh, the third PJ was seriously THE BEST!!! The it hers were awesome, but three has to be my fave!!! Plus, I checked the Rick riordan website, and he’s writing a whole new series about a different demigod!!! I wish J.K. Rowling would do that!!! Don’t u???

I LLLLOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEE Percy Jackson! I’m also reading The Chronicles of Narnia. So far on Percy Jackson I’m on book 5 and on The Chronicles of Narnia I’m on book 3. I want to start reading Lord of the Rings.

All my friends say that Percy

All my friends say that Percy Jackson is for guys, but they still read junie B jones, and even in kindergarten I never found her funny. She was kind of insulting, because I never talked like that. But I kinda liked her fist grader series, because it was funny when she spelled things wrong in her notebook.

Me, too!

I have the whole Junie B. Jones series at my house, too! I don’t really read them that much anymore, but when I was younger, I would read them a lot. The books were pretty funny!

Me too! When I was younger, I read them everyday all day. When I was younger though, I never found them funny since I didnt get what the jokes were, but now If I read it youll find me cracking up because I remember myself at that age, doing the same things!

I love Reading!!!

I currently finished the book Pirate Hunter about a pirate called Captain Kidd but well Captain Kidd really wasnt a pirate as it explains in the book but, my favorite books are Harry Potter series, Inkheart trilogy, and the septimus heap series

I LOVE PERCY!!! He is my hero! I like Harry Potter, Dork Diaries, Twilight, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Marvin Redpost (It is like Junie B Jones but way funnier!) I also like the book A Crooked Kind of Perfect, and it is about this girl, and her dream is to be a star pianoist, and perform at Carnegie Hall. So she asks her parents to buy her a piano, and sign her up for lessons. But they buy her an ORGAN!!! A really old organ, and you will have to read the book to find out what happens next!

i like the book...

i like the book: the lacemaker and the princess! it’s about a lacemaker who visits the palace to give the queen some lace samples and ends up making “friends” with the princess (this story takes place in france)

well i luv reading nancey drew books and meg cabot books! im almost half way through big boned and i luv it!!! i also read some of her princess books!!! luv it! tdf! ( to die for)! luv them! i r them recommend them to all discovery girls!!! who feels the same way?! peace!

good books

I have been reading the Gallagher Girls books by Ally Carter lately and they are really good!!! I think they are somewhat similar to Harry Potter because she goes to a boarding school and the school is secret from everybody except the students.
