You voted for them, now it's time to really get to know them with their very own diaries! Plus, get a sneak peek of their San Francisco photo shoot experiences! This week, get to know Calista Pierce of Pennsylvania!
We asked Role Model Calista Pierce to put together a diary of her experiences at our San Francisco photo shoot to share with Discovery Girls readers and online users. Here it is:

I was so excited when I was selected as one of the DG Role Models! I was even featured in the local newspaper. I couldn’t wait to fly to California!

One of our first stops in San Francisco? Chinatown! It was so cool!

When all the Role Models first met! We had loads of fun exploring Pier 39!

Looking at all the awesome outfits for the photo shoot!

Making a Role Model pyramid!

Here’s my family in front of the Golden Gate Bridge! We used this picture on our Christmas card!

It’s cool to care everywhere! I loved this sign.

Flying home from San Francisco after the shoot! I was so sad to leave all my new friends!

My check presentation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation last month! My organization, CalistaCares.com, was able to fund two wishes in less than six months!
As you can see, I had a lot of fun. Thank you Discovery Girls! It was so amazing and I will never forget it.
Love,
Calista

Thanks, but I actually got my hair cut really short a few months ago. I had a Cut-A-Thon for Locks of Love and donated 16 1/2 inches. I am growing it out again, though. I was 1 of the 12 DG Role Models from all around the US and Canada and went to California for the photo shoots. I am actually from Pennsylvania. It was a 2 day photo shoot. The first day, we went around San Francisco, which was so much fun! The second day was in a studio. The shoots were a few hours each day.Thats so nice!

My hair seems forever to grow out. It takes sooooo long, but when I get it cut short again I think I will donate, because, otherwise that hair could be wasted.Calista :D

I play the piano and I play it for nursing homes around the county. My next project is to help kids with diseases and disablities. I am donating toys to them along with money! I also love the outdoors.:)Thanks! :)
Thanks so much for your sweet comments! That’s awesome that you have done so many projects to help others. I haven’t done anything for the American Heart Association yet, but jumping rope to raise money sounds like a lot of fun!!! My Relay for Life team walked for 24 hours to help find a cure for cancer last month, which was a lot of fun and I did a Cut-A-Thon for Locks of Love in April. I donated 16 1/2 inches of my hair and collected a total of 8 ponytails to help children suffering from medical hair loss. I have helped the soldiers, too! :) I would love to be friends with you, too! What part of Pennsylvania are you from? I am near Erie. :)
