I think ads for beauty products make girls feel really self-concious about the way they look because they compair themselves to the models that are wearing the make-up. They dont realize that those models aren’t real. Ithink it pressures girls into wearing make-up because they want to feeel better about themselves

I definately understand what it’s like to feel like pretty people are better. The truth is their not. Everyone has their good qualities and their bad. I mean, who cares is if you aren’t the most atttractive person in your school. You might be the one who finds the cure for the common cold, or make an important discovery. Looks aren’t as nearly important as the inside! :)

I think some ads for beauty products can make girls feel bad about themselves. Like if you see an ad for makeup you are going to think “Oh may be that would cover up that huge zit iI have!” But you also might think “Oh Iam so ugly that might help, who am I kiding all the makeup in the world would not make me look any better!” In both these examples it is making the girls feel bad. In the fuirst one it is making a girl feel bad about a pimple which is probably just a little red bump and every one gets them it is perfectly normal! In the second it is making the girl feel ugly which she deffinatly is NOT!! Noone is God created us all special,beautiful,and unique eachg in our own special and different ways. You should let nobody make you feel bad because you are different.

I think girl shoudn’t have to be pressured into wearing make-up, it just covers up the real you!

Girls shouldn’t wear makeup because their beautiful as they are but what’s this that models aren’t real thet’re fake! Models are real people just trying to do what they love and make money, don’t blame the models blame the commercial company!

I think commercials for beauty products make girls feel bad about themselves, because most of the models in ads are beautiful and skinny, and that makes girls feel like they’ll never look like them. So I think they shouldn’t show ads like that anymore, because it makes girls feel bad.

I love the “Dove” ads because they use normal people not super thin people they use 160lb people instead of 20lb people. I mean who do you really see who looks like they are “Right out of a magazine”?

It’s ok! It’s not like the models TRY to make us feel bad!!!! That’s how they look and they can’t help it. Mostly people are like,”I should try that new Dove acne cream! It looked so good in the ad.” but that’s THEIR point of view! They may not get the look they wanted,but atleast they tried. I’m NOT offended by it…but sometimes I’m like,”Wow! I wish I was like them.” but then I regrett it all the same.

I think when girls see ads for makeup and clothes, mostly they say “That’s cool, I want that!” or ” I have to have that!”. We spend a lot of our time worrying about things we want to get and things that we do not have. We need to focuss on the things we have and need. We have food and water and shelter and love, and we should all be THANKFUL for that.

I think both.If you buy it and wear it you feel good if you dont have it it makes you feel bad becase your left out.

I also think that the fact that guys see these commercials, they start to think that the girls in the advertisements are reality and they expect that from average girls. They don’t realize that the image of them is a result from hours of hair, makeup and years of experiences and puberty. and when they don’t see the beautiful girls with amazing bodies, they start complaining which can also lower a girl’s self esteem. It’ll make girls think they’re not good enough because the guys compare them with models. guys need to start realizing the truth!

I think they make girls feel good about themselves. it gives them hope that without all the make up the models are just like them. So I dissagree with most of the girls i think the ads give girls hope.

I dont think commercials and adds for beauty products make girls feel bad about themselves i am currently a ford model i have done many adds for girls and young teens clothes and beauty .ANy girl who looks at an add of a girl in a commercial (and BYthe way most adds for beauty products have women modeling there products)and thinks ohh i feel so bad about myself needs self confadince and them having low or no self confadince is not the beauty product makers fault.

I don’t think so because Models can’t help looking like that!! It’s their job,to do this stuff—and girls SHOULDN’T feel bad because some beauty ads are FAKES and(maybe the models naturally look that way)maybe they didn’t do it right!! But everyone IS beautiful,so you don’t need some junk on your face to feel that way!

When you see adds on TV or in magazines… doesn’t it make want to be like that girl? I think so, so you try really hard to be like that and because you can do anything you put your mind to, then when you see the add again you already know you are like that… Im not saying change yourself, Well maybe I am, but when you think about… if you want to change isn’t that you be yourself. Its your life and its your choice!

ads for beauty products make me feel great! i dont see why everyone else thinks they are o so bad. If a girl is alredy pretty, then they should know that the ads for the beauty products are going to want you to buy the products because you see the girl in the commercial or in the newspaper and she is just beautiful. Then, if you buy the beauty product you will be more beautiful then you already were and people will start to notice you more you look better with that zit covered up and those glossy lips. You will also feel alot more confident! I dont think that I coold live wihout my makeup soooooooooo. Tahts my story!

Makeup can make girls feel like they have to look like the models on the commercels for that makeup or they want to look like them. Mascara is ok to put on but all of the blush, eyeliner, lipstick, eyeshadow, lipliner, and mascara together make them not look like them self. when we get older and have a job then its a time to put on makeup but for right now be yourself. Most likey the girls on that commercel have been doing movies and commercels for a long time. Just show the really u.

i say that it shouldnt matter about those ads cause they are always modifyed by computer (photoshop). they are made more beautiful, they removed all traces of blemishes on their skin, enhanced color, and a bunch of other i dont see why girls can think that these people are really so perfect. i dont see why girls cant just be happy with themselves, and not try to look like something they are not. how is anyone going to be able to look inside you and see that beautiful girl if you are covered in makeup? i think that you should just try being satisfied with the way you look. if someone critizeises you for how you look just tell them that they should not say such mean stuff and that they wont be able to succeed in life if they insult people like that all the time or even some of the time.

I think most commercials and adds make girls feel bad about themselves. They see the perfect, big-chested, gorgeous, un-blemished girls and feel insecure. They wish they were someone they’re not! Often the girls aren’t even ‘real’- they’re touched up. No one really looks like that and it’s a lie to make girls believe it. It’s what’s on the inside that really matters. That’s what girls should be focusing on!!

beauty adds aren’t supposed to make you feel good OR bad! they are supposed to make you think if you use their product it will make you look like the models in the add.

The models in those beauty ads aren’t the average girl.they’re skinny,perfect and it looks like they were modified using an computer.Makers of Ads should consider using average girls for their ads,they would make girls feel less insecure and make them feel alot better about themselves.

Well I think that beauty prodects are just advertising for better things. I don’t get how it could make you sad… well some people are sad because of the models that are sometimes on. They think that they are much prettier than them. And that’s not true! Everyone is beutiful in there own way. Those people just have to much makeup on and probably don’t even look like that without makeup.

In Hannah Montana’s song Nobody’s Perfect Hannah sings about how NO ONE is perfect not even Miley/Hannah. Celebrities acne, braces, bad hair cuts, EVERYTHING. If you see a beautym product add say to yourself “Hey that girl looks nice but I look even better” that’s called a BEAUTYful aditude!

Do not belive the poster that you see. High tech computers do things, like, make teeth look more white, remove a pimple, all kinds of stuff. So be thankful for how you look!

I just want to let you all know we’re all untitled to our opinion, including me. It may not make others feel good, but the products I buy help me a lot. I actually think they work rather well.

I do care about how I look alot and I will admit to wearing make-up. I put on some cover up and lip gloss. I think that beauty ads don’t hurt girls at all when the models they are using are real (and still beautiful) girls. I mean, not all models are anorexic and fake! but some are tho, and those ads can hurt girls. Overall, its up to you how you react; and you have the power not to let an ad or model lower yuor self-eteem or crush your confidence.

I think yes and no because I use CoverGirl & LipSmacker but just because I like it, not because I want to be like the models they show wearing the product.

I don’t know about other people,but when I see women on TV or beauty commercials who look like they weigh 90 pounds,I don’t feel
jealous at all! I appreciate women and men who are at a healthy size for their height and shape.I like women who look like women,not skinny boys.In my oppinion,I think it looks better when women are shapely and curvy,not bone thin.I CAN be jealous of models like that!

When I see an ad for makeup, I really dont care. I dont wear makeup yet, so it make me feel anything different. When I see ads for clothes, that is a bit different, becasue you know, I wear clothes. Some clothes I say, “Oh thats cool!” or sometimes I say “Ew! U-G-L-Y!” Ads for beauty products dont change me or anything like that, because I know that I am pretty inside and out.

I think beauty commercials make us feel bad.I mean i feel bad after seeing one. The truth is the women on those commercials are full of Make up. And most of us dont have time in the morning before school. Anyway dont you just want to have a natural glow without makeup. we get so used to make up so that when we’re older we put on a bunch of makeup to make us think that we’re prettier but the truth is we look the best without makeup. so a little cover up is fine but, tons of makeup is’ent.

I don’t think beauty ads make you feel bad about yourself as long as YOU feel good about yourself. Hey, who knows the product they are advertising might even be useful to you! =) You shouldn’t feel bad because a model looks great on a ad, because everyone is beautiful in their own way!

They make us feel bad because they use girl models that are twig skinny,busty,and straight up beautiful.There are millions of beautiful girls out in the world.But they pick the models that the chances of someone being that pretty and a million-to-one.They probably have 5 pounds of make-up on and flat-iron their hair 12 times.Then we go and try to be that pretty,too.When it is simply almost impossible.
