My Reflection Part 2 of 3

If you could only use 3 words to describe yourself what would they be and why? The first word is creative. I love to be creative and express myself. I’ve created new things, like a cardboard board game, pop-up cards, and so many more. I like to make boring things, into fun things. The second word to describe me is kind. Kind is a word I love to use. I believe in being KIND to everyone, no matter how they treat you. A role model is kind to others. The third word to describe me is confidence. I have gained so much confidence over the years, especially with this contest. I can’t believe that when I was little, I was the most timid girl. Now, I have spread my wings and learned how to fly! : )

It is all coming to a End

Hi everybody, you have been so good at voting all through this month! Unfortunately, it’s over today. It’s been much fun being a part of all of this. I hope I’ve made it to the top ten, and if this does happen, and if they do pick me, I will be exicted to meet all of the top ten girls. It has been very fun doing this but it is all coming to a end. All of the 30 finalists are role models and many other girls around the world are too. Good luck to everyone and keep doing the right things for yourself and others. Bye!

End of the contest :(

Hi Everyone, Here I am with my last blog post. I can’t believe September has gone by so quickly and the contest is almost over. It’s been such an AMAZING experience! Thanks to everyone at Discovery Girls Magazine who created this contest, and sent such encouraging e-mails to us during the contest. It has been great to get to follow the other 30 finalists and read about how they are role models. We are all so different, but we all do great things. I can’t wait to find out if I’m in the top 10 and will be profiled in the magazine. I hope I make it!! But, even if I don’t, this has been a great experience. I love the fact that together with the other 30 finalists, I’ve already been able to serve as a role model to other girls. I am also especially proud of being able to inspire other girls in Nova Scotia to do great things for their communities. Thank you so much to all the people who have supported me and voted for me over the past month. You’re all amazing! Maia

Excited!!!

It’s almost the last day everyone!! I’m SUPER DUPER EXCITED to find out who gets the to go to California photo shoot…….even if it’s not me!!!! Hehe!! It would definently, honestly, mean the world to me because I have never been on a plane, (the farthest from my home state of North Dakota that I have ever been is 8 hours) and it would be even cooler to be in the Top 10 rathere than the Top 30!! I would like to thank EVERY single person that has voted for me throughout the past month, even if it was only 1 vote! I understand that it was kind of a process to just make 1 vote for me. Thanks to all my moms 600 some facebook friends, her work friends, her Chamber friends, all of my friends, and any other DG Magazine fans that simply looked at who I was and voted for me!! THANK YOU ALL!!! :) Paige PS: Sorry I have not posted a lot as I did post 2 and they never showed up in my blog. I also have gymnastics 14 hours a week, baton, dance, and homework!! I am such a BUSY BUSY girl!!

Fun Halloween craft

The supplies you will need to make a Halloween spider are four black pipe cleaners (for the spider’s legs), a large black cotton ball (for the body), glue, paper (for the spider’s eyes and smiley mouth), and scissors (for cutting). First, before you start this craft ask your parents’ permission. When getting started, take the four black pipe cleaners, and cut each one in half. Then, you fold each of the eight pipe cleaners in half again and glue them (four on each side) onto the cotton ball. When you are done gluing on the pipe cleaners, cut out two circles for the eyes, and whatever kind of mouth you want your spider to have. Draw a dot in each of the eyes you cut out, and don’t forget to decorate the spider’s mouth with some nice, white teeth. When the spider legs dry, glue the eyes and mouth you made onto the spider. Once everything is done, you can put your spider anywhere you would like, such as outside your house, or in the candy bucket as a fun, decoration for your trick-or-treaters.
